HERITAGE POTATO GROWING CHALLENGE
As part of this year’s show, we are running a special section for growing
heritage potatoes.

There are 3 classes to enter.
70 Sharpe’s Express (SE)
71 Duke of York (DoY)
72 King Edward (KE)

Potato seeds have been sourced for each variety and are available free to
all, (restricted to 1 bag (2 seed potatoes) of each variety per person). The
seeds are in individual bags marked up to indicate the variety – please take
1 of each. These are available from Old Orchard House, 4A Chapel Street
(in boxes near to the garage) or from the Village Hall at the time of specific
events including pub night on 21st Feb, rugby screenings and coffee
morning on 26th Feb.

From each seed you should be able to grow a number of potatoes. For
each class, enter the best 3 potatoes grown and these will be judged along
with the other show entries.

Growing instructions for each variety can be found on
www.jamiesonbrothers.com. Enter the variety in the search bar and scroll
down for instructions.

The planting time varies between March and April for each variety of potato. King Edwards have the longest growing time so these should be planted first.
